"Magic Boots" by Jean Jinho Kim
Located on the Upper Level between Lucid and Michael Kors through May, 2025
This series of boldly-colored abstract boot sculptures symbolizes life’s choices and obstacles, with an emphasis on celebrating resilient women. They were inspired by her mother’s insistence on wearing tall boots even when she was old and physically challenged – a testament to her stubborn devotion to fashion and strength of character.
About the Artist: Jean Kim was born in South Korea and currently resides in Great Falls. She began using ordinary household items that were seemingly insignificant and began transforming them into something extraordinary through her art. The idea of transformation, validation, and empowerment is present throughout all of her work and continues to be a source of her inspiration. She has exhibited at the Kreeger Museum, One Art Space in NYC, and around the world in Germany, Italy, and South Korea. Her work has been covered in The Washington Post, Modern Luxury DC, Arlington Magazine, and The Korean Times.

Time: A Contemplative Exhibition
Located on the Upper Level near Macy's
Time is an ethereal and evocative series of works that explores the thin tapestry of time. Through the lens of an eroded canyon, where every crevice whispers tales of millions of years of history, and ancient human structures standing amidst a millennia of aging, the collection beckons viewers to contemplate the profound relationship between time and the human experience. Each piece is a reverie, a glimpse into the fluidity of moments, inviting us to gaze through the eyes of each artist and to ponder our place in the world in this exact moment.
